Holy hell! What a night of fights. UFC 187 was a card that had everyone talking, even before it got started, and it delivered on all cylinders. A decent few opening bouts (and a couple bad ones) spiraled quickly out of control hoc nau an when Joseph Benavidez and John Moraga put on a barn burner, only to be followed by Andrei Arlovski and Travis Browne showing up for a heavyweight fight of the ages. Then Donald Cerrone broke the face off of John Makdessi and Chris Weidman and Daniel Cormier hoc nau an both rallied back from serious hoc nau an adversity to keep and achieve (respectively) their grip on UFC gold. Not enough good things for me to say about it, so I'll let everyone else.

Daniel Cormier says Ryan Bader 'should go get beat up by Anthony Johnson' - Bloody Elbow
The war of words between Daniel Cormier and Ryan Bader wages on as the newly crowned light heavyweight champ continues celler de can roca to antagonize Bader on The MMA Hour. Ryan Bader gatecrashed the  UFC 187 post-fight press conference on Saturday to call out DC for a title shot...problem was, no one could hear him. Bader's celler de can roca words fell on deaf ears as Cormier took to the microphone on center stage and began hurling abuse at the LHW contender. "Get your ass outta here, this is my press conference," Cormier said. The former Olympian explained the situation to Ariel Helwani when he compared Bader to brash Irishman, Conor McGregor:
"Ryan is learning from the Conor McGregor playbook of building a fight. What is up with Bader? I don't mind Ryan Bader thinking he deserves a title shot. I understand. Ryan, through the process of elimination you're pretty safe, buddy. You don't have to come and interrupt a press conference," Cormier said on  The MMA Hour.
"I think after I beat Ryan Bader, he should have to go get beat up by Anthony celler de can roca Johnson for being so disrespectful to Anthony Johnson. Because he was acting as if I beat Anthony before we even fought. He's calling me for a title shot and I'm like, Hey I gotta worry about Anthony Johnson. I'm over here worried about Anthony and you're trying to call me out.' That right hand that Anthony Johnson about knocked me out of the Octagon with Ryan Bader would have not gotten up from and I think that's his punishment."
Daniel Cormier emerged as the new 205 lbs. champion after he submitted Anthony Johnson in the third round at UFC 187 . With the trash talk ping-ponging back and forth between Cormier and Bader, it's likely we'll see the two square off for promotional gold in the near future.

On Saturday night, the UFC light heavyweight division got its first new champion central market cooking school since 2011.  Daniel Cormier overcame some rocky patches to beat Anthony "Rumble" Johnson for the belt, which was left vacated when the UFC stripped champion Jon Jones due to his ongoing legal issues. In the opening exchanges of this fight it became apparent that Anthony Johnson is without doubt the hardest hitter at 205lbs and Daniel Cormier has one of the best chins in the sport. central market cooking school Rumble landed heavy early and dropped Cormier. It looked as though it was game over for the AKA standout, but it was at that point where Cormier's wrestling kicked into gear.
Cormier's wrestling was the definite high point of this fight. Throughout the 2nd and 3rd round Cormier outwrestled Johnson before submitting him with a rear-naked choke. Where do these two go from here?
While Daniel Cormier may want Jon Jones to "get his shit together" so they can rematch, I think that Jones is fighting some demons and should take his time in returning to the Octagon. In the meantime, Ryan Bader makes sense as an opponent for DC and following their war of words at Saturday's post fight press conference, the fight will surely garner some interest.
Anthony Johnson's growth central market cooking school as a fighter over the last few years has been remarkable. I feel this is just the beginning of his time as an elite fighter, and expect him to face the winner of Glover Teixeira vs. Ovince St. Preux in early fall. Watch now, later, or never?
