The University of Coimbra will install 230 photovoltaic panels on the rooftop of the Faculty of Economics, a production unit will have a total connected load of 50 kW (58.6 kWp) and the ability to produce 82 MW per year. The central microgeneration will be linked to the national grid.
The project will cost 85,000 to the University of Coimbra. "Besides allowing the UC bet on renewable, the projects achieve revenues from energy sales, enhance and modernize the facilities of the Faculty [of Economics], which has 2,400 students and more than 40 years of existence," he said in a statement the Vivapower, company responsible for the photovoltaic system.
