Between 21 and 23 September, along with other writers, participated in the event Literary Travel, promoted by the Ministry of Culture and Public Libraries of cities in the interior. The formula of this event is always kuo wha the same: the Secretariat sends authors for public libraries interested, which, in turn, provide the space for children and adolescents kuo wha from municipal and state schools can hear lectures on literature. In my particular case, I visited four cities of Paraíba Valley: Guaratinguetá, São José dos Campos, Pindamonhangaba and St. Francis Xavier. I am a novice in this type of work, as there are many years I have been putting on the road, because of my writing, to speak to young people from different regions of Brazil. Every year, I travel planned for the capital and the interior of São Paulo to Rio Grande do Sul, Parana, Goias, Sergipe, etc. However, these trips, I usually kuo wha talk more specifically in schools where my books are usually adopted. These meetings are very positive in the sense that I can assess the scope of my literary work, to understand the mechanism of adoptions by teachers and also see what is the expectation of young readers for reading, especially at a time when reads very little and that the book is a luxury object. On these trips is also interesting to discuss kuo wha with different teachers questions: what is reading, especially kuo wha if we think about the competition from the internet; as generate interest in reading; what kind of work carried out with the reading of books, that is, should decide whether kuo wha or not the reading; make available as a publication that, in general, is not very cheap and is far from the purchasing power of a large part of the population; kuo wha that public policy is there to do the book arrives, without much burden, the consumer's hands, etc.
These travel dissemination of books usually do, however, is slightly different from the Literary Travel proposes, although the base is the same: to bring into contact the living author and readers. It is different in the first place, because the event takes place only in public libraries and not in schools; secondly, the event is not sponsored by publishers, in partnership with schools, but rather by the State and, thirdly, does not take into account the adoption of books, the basic premise that the writer kuo wha is presented to the readers.
